2020 Blogger Secret Santa Gift Exchange

Yaaay, the slower-than-molasses mail finally delivered my much awaited package! As the only two Canadians in the running, Nat D from Jump2PlanBE and I drew each other, as I tried to arrange it so that people within the same country (and/or section of the country) drew each other to reduce shipping costs and time.

I was really excited to get this in the mail, and right off the pat she did NOT disappoint with this absolutely stunning and autographed card.  Love me a dark bay, too!

As if that wasn't enough, the note inside was absolutely inspiring of tears.

Next, the ultimate unveiling
(though I was pretty sure the gorgeous card and kind words were plenty already!)

Oooh goodie!!!

It's worth mentioning, I provided a pretty vague wish list, but wowza Nat nailed it!  First off, who doesn't need more cookies?!  I like to attempt to buy my horses affection with an obscene amount of them, so that is a sure-fire way to do me a solid right off the hop.  Next up were some really neat looking waterproof merino gloves that deceptively appear like your standard cotton gloves that soak in seconds so I am REALLY excited to try these, especially because I always end up wearing my good riding gloves when I'm out with the horses, and they get ruined faster and ultimately make their way to my house, where they end up lost.  It's a real problem.

Anyway, there was also a lovely goat hair face brush which funnily enough, Sierra LOVES her face being brushed so this is perfect. In fact, when I went and tried her out they literally said "don't even think of getting on her unless you brush her face." Alas, I have forgone that important step many a'time and fared just fine, but the girl loves a good buffing!

Speaking of buffing, there was also this REALLY neat spongey-looking-thing that was vacuum sealed and upon opening it up it puffed right up. It looks like the holy grail of mud-removing necessities, and I had honestly never even heard of them before so I'm super stoked to give it a try!

Round all those incredible items out with a super fun sticker and I got my self one heckkkkk of a sweet Exchange gift!  To top it all off, I didn't follow Nat before so now I've made a new friend!

Thank you so much Nat, you're an absolute Gem!

January Analysis & February Goals

We have survived the first month of 2019 and as I expected, we were hit with both Snowmageddon AND Mother-Fcking-Cold-Mageddon.. and we were also hit with "oh my god it's nice, I wanna garden and play with ponies outside" as well as "it is so windy, I think my face literally got stretched off my skull".. We have literally had all 4 seasons in the past 30 days, and while some days were glorious, it also put a damper on my January goals . January Goals: Spend at least 4 Hours in the Saddle I'm going to call this a win. I had some issues with my Equilab app that required Technical Support and some of my rides were lost, so while I currently have about 3.6 Hrs logged for January, I'm thinking I hit 4, or just over. Continue with regular Stretching (on the ground) I definitely put a lot of time into this, and also introduced a new REMT who gave me additional stretches to do.  At our 2nd appointment, she said there was noticeable difference! Blog Hop: 2020 Summary; Covid Edition

While we all live in different towns, have different goals and different lives - but one thing that we all have in common is what a wild and wonky year 2020 was.  The reality is, it's all affected us in one way or another, and with 2020 coming to an end it's time to reflect and look hopeful towards an improved 2021. What's the best thing that happened to you in 2020? Personal: Hands down, the birth of my daughter .  After 4 years of fertility struggles, I'm beyond grateful and though some days feel like an eternity of struggle, confusion and pain, my heart has never been more full. Horsey: It's hard to choose. Despite hardly riding, I've had a lot of wonderful horsey-filled memories this year.  From the birth of Phascinating BRR , my second homebred to date, to the few rides I got to enjoy and making a major investment in my breeding business, there's been lots to be thankful for. What's the worst thing that happened to you in 2020? Personal: It's...
